First Impressions - Paula Lyttle

What were your first impressions when starting at Decision Time?

From the start of the interview stage, the company came across as being very much focused on their staff with an emphasis on finding the right people. Working with the Decision Time team for a few months now, I can fully appreciate how important that is. Everyone is so down to earth, welcoming, friendly and very approachable.  Since my first day, I have felt very much part of the team and can honestly say that there’s not one person who I feel I couldn’t ask for help if I ever needed it.  Everyone understands how hard it can be to learn a new job and has been very mindful of that each step of the way.

What have you enjoyed most so far?

Currently, I am enjoying working in a new industry. It’s completely different to any other business I’ve worked in before.  It’s an exciting challenge, and every day I learn something new.  Meeting everyone has been very enjoyable too and I have already had some social outings with the company. Meeting the team face to face has been a great icebreaker and has helped me settle into the role.

How does it feel working remotely?

I’m enjoying working remotely. Again it’s very different to my previous roles as they were all office-based.  We have a sales team meeting every morning, so that helps to keep a routine, and it’s also lovely to see everyone daily.  Even though I work remotely and work alone, I certainly don’t feel on my own.  Everyone in the company is very easy to reach, and someone is always available if I ever have any questions.

Describe your typical day working at Decision Time.

During our daily sales team meeting, each member will run through their tasks from the previous day and for the day ahead. This allows me to determine what campaign each person is working on and ask any questions. Part of my role entails gathering information for an upcoming campaign, so I could spend my day researching specific contacts within organisations and compiling a list of email addresses to go back to the sales team. I also assist with preparing demos that the Sales Executives have booked with organisations. I upload information to tailor the demos for each organisation, allowing the attendees to relate to their meeting agenda. I also help prepare the draft proposals sent out to each organisation following their demonstration.

What do you look forward to within the company in 2022?

I know the company has experienced exceptional growth over the past few years, so I am excited to see more companies coming on board to use the software.  Some very familiar organisations are already using the software, and to see more customers sign up is very exciting.

If you could describe Decision Time in 1 word, what would it be?

Driven - I see how passionate everyone is about the software and the excellent customer reviews inspire us to drive forward. Whether that be in software development, customer success or the sales side of the business.  Everyone is encouraged not only to drive themselves forward but also within their teams and the business.  The ethos in the company is that if Decision Time is successful, then we’re all successful and rewarded as an employee. It’s so lovely to feel part of a team where everyone works together.
