First Impressions - Jill Stevenson
What were your first impressions when starting at Decision Time?
My first impression of Decision Time was that everyone was so friendly and welcoming, with a real team spirit and respect for one another. The onboarding process was thorough, and I felt supported during that journey. In my role, I have the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Departments and Directors at Decision Time, and from the start, it was clear that they drive a positive culture within the business.
What have you enjoyed most so far?
My role at Decision Time is commercially focused, where most of my experience has been before working here. Dealing with tenders, contracts, and customers gives me great job satisfaction. As part of that work, I have been tasked with implementing some internal processes to enhance communication between the various departments of the business. Seeing this come to fruition and working effectively and efficiently on a daily basis has been a real highlight so far.
How does it feel working remotely?
I joined Decision Time remotely, which was a new experience for me. I worked remotely in my previous role but transitioned from working with the team in the office. Starting remotely at Decision Time was a smooth and straightforward process. The leadership team had everything in place, and with the use of online chat and video calls, it felt quite natural. I enjoy working remotely, as I still feel very connected to the team. Though, I do miss the hustle and bustle of the office from time to time.
Describe your typical day working at Decision Time.
No two days are the same. I switch between coordinating any tenders we are currently working on to ensure we meet the deadline while keeping on top of any commercial work for new contracts that the sales team has progressed. In between, I focus on internal processes and our CRM to identify any areas we can improve.
What do you look forward to within the company in 2022?
I look forward to adding to the continual internal improvements. I get real job satisfaction seeing changes come to fruition and seeing the benefits it brings to the business and my colleagues.
I am also looking forward to upskilling, as Decision Time supports employees' learning journey with funding for training readily available.
If you could describe Decision Time in 1 word, what would it be?
Evolving - because there is a great energy and passion about the company which can be felt even while working remotely. The business is always looking ahead and moving forward to ensure we provide the best service for our customers and ensure the team has the right skills to support and deliver these services. There is a real focus on continual improvement.
